The Foundation for America's Blood Centers offers a variety of ways to get involved and help support our life saving mission. From individual donations to large scale fundraising events, there is something for everyone! Some of our most popular ways to show your support include:
Campaigns are fundraising initiatives focused on a particular
project or person. A campaign can range from a large scale program
to honoring individuals who have contributed to the blood community
or as a way for blood recipients and their families to give back to
the community. Current and ongoing campaigns include:
Lou Katz Research Grant: In honor of Dr. Lou Katz, ABC Chief Medical Officer, the FABC will raise funds to develop a research grant awarded to an ABC member (with possible collaboration with an industry partner) focused on donor health, safety and management. To contribute, click here.
Jerry Haarmann Memorial Campaign: Jerry Haarmann was a dedicated leader in the blood banking industry for over 20 years. After his sudden passing in April 2014, a group of his former colleagues wanted to find a way to honor both his contributions to blood banking, as well as his friendship to many. Hence the formation of the Jerry Haarmann Memorial Campaign. Jerry's legacy will be honored with the naming of the Jerry Haarmann Leadership Certificate Program. To date over $50,000 has been raised. Dr. Celso Bianco Lecture Series Campaign: The Dr. Celso Bianco Lecture Series is an endowment that funds the search, travel, and lodging to honor a leading physician and/or scientist to speak on an emeriging issue related to transfusion medicine. This lecture series is an outstanding opportunity to honor over 40 years of contributions in transfsion research, as well as blood and donor safety that Dr. Bianco has provided to donors, patients, and blood center staff. One of the many valuable resources America's Blood Centers offers its membership is the opportunity to learn and network with peers and leaders in blood banking through ABC meetings, workshops and events. These face-to-face educational opportunities are just one component of the ABC Professional Institute - an online learning community offering an innovative and robust blood of traditional and virtual educational tools for blood center professionals. Be a part of the crowd with the unique opportunity to learn about the issues and challenges affecting the blood and transfusion medicine communities and meet your current and future partners in an intimate setting. With a variety of opportunities available, vendors or all sizes have the chance to meet, network and share with decision-makers in blood banking.
