America’s Blood Centers (ABC) congratulates Karim Mikhail, B. Pharm, MSc, on his appointment to the role of Director of the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER). After serving as acting director, Mr. Mikhail’s permanent appointment provides important stability for CBER and for the nation’s blood and biotherapeutics communities. His leadership will help to advance innovation while fostering a collaborative regulatory environment that ensures the continued safety and availability of the nation’s blood supply.
