Versiti is seeking a physician leader to serve as Blood Services Medical Director, providing medical oversight and strategic leadership for blood collection, manufacturing, testing, distribution, and transfusion medicine services across Wisconsin and the broader Versiti network. This role offers the opportunity to influence patient care, donor safety, regulatory excellence, and innovation within one of the nation’s leading blood health organizations.
Working closely with physicians, laboratory teams, operational leaders, hospital partners, and community stakeholders, you will support quality systems, regulatory compliance, donor eligibility programs, adverse event management, investigations, product lookbacks, and public health reporting.
You will also provide transfusion medicine consultation to hospital clients, support Special Patient Services, participate in physician on-call coverage, and collaborate across the organization to advance standardized practices, education, research, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Board certified or board eligible in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine
- Board certification or eligibility in Pathology, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics with transfusion medicine specialization
- Eligibility for Wisconsin medical licensure and multi-state licensure within Versiti’s service area
- Qualifications to serve as a CLIA Laboratory Director
