America’s Blood Centers (ABC) welcomes you to the role of Assistant Secretary for Health. In your new role as HHS Blood Safety Director, ABC looks forward to working with you to ensure broad awareness of the essential role of the blood supply in the health care system as well as the continuous need for blood donors to ensure a safe, diverse, and available blood supply.
ABC brings together community-based independent blood centers who collectively provide nearly 60 percent of the U.S. blood supply. During the COVID-19 pandemic, our members have also provided about 75 percent of all COVID-19 Convalescent Plasma.
